Funders for LGBTQ Issues is thrilled to announce the recipients of the third cycle of FLGBTQI + ADAM Queer Youth Initiative matching grants. The FLGBTQI + ADAM Queer Youth Initiative supports foundations that address the needs of LGBTQ youth and involve youth in grantmaking decisions.
This year’s recipients include:
All four foundations demonstrated a strong commitment to youth involvement in their grantmaking decisions. They also showed a commitment to supporting organizations serving particularly marginalized LGBTQ youth, such as youth of color, young women, transgender and gender non-conforming youth, low-income youth, and/or youth in rural areas. Finally, they will all support work for systemic social change and work at the intersections of issues affecting young people. Each foundation will receive three years of matching grants, with the match declining each year, in order to both support LGBTQ youth in their area and to increase community giving.
In partnership with the ADAM donors, Ralph Alpert, Mike Dively, and Weston Milken, Funders for LGBTQ Issues would like to thank all the foundations that submitted applications. The range of applications showed a strong movement of LGBTQ youth leadership and advocacy. We look forward to partnering with all of these community foundations to support queer youth.
