Cross-Generational Strategies: An Intersectional Approach to Funding Across LGBTQ Lifespans

Thursday, March 31st · 11:30am — 12:30pm

Investing in LGBTQ people and issues across the lifespan is imperative. There are pervasive challenges for LGBTQ people as we age, including: housing, health care, economic security and more. Depending on our stage in life, these issues present a little differently. As we work to address systemic barriers and disparities in the LGBTQ community across race, class, and gender identity, taking a cross-generational approach to grantmaking could be a strategic way to ensure a holistic vantage point.

This session will work to paint a fuller picture of the ways that chronic needs present themselves at different stages of life for LGBTQ people. Supporting collaborations and strategies which have a cross-generational approach could lead to breakthroughs around long-term, comprehensive solutions across sectors. You will walk away from this workshop with some creative next steps for expanding funding conversations to include needs across age.
