Chicken & Egg Pictures is seeking an Industry & Artist Development Manager to join our program team. This position will manage our programs geared toward providing Chicken & Egg Pictures (C&E) supported filmmakers with career-building opportunities, new networks, resources, and a vibrant community to deepen their craft and further develop their projects.
As part of a collaborative organization, this is an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Chicken & Egg Pictures. Our 2023–2025 Strategic Plan includes our newly annual convening, Doc Nest (formerly Next Gen Egg), and a robust expansion of our AlumNest programming, which are two programs you will manage.
The successful candidate enjoys exploring new ideas to build bridges and partnerships within the nonfiction ecosystem, and has a talent for turning those ideas into actions that will advance the organization, the filmmakers, as well as the field at large.

Chicken & Egg Pictures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a global community of women and non-binary documentary filmmakers with creative and financial support to realize their cinematic visions and build fulfilling careers in a gender inclusive media industry. What You’ll Do
This is a mid-level position that reports to the Program Director and works closely with every member of the C&E team, as well as donors and industry partners. The position will supervise an intern and/or a temporary event production staff member for Doc Nest.
As the main lead managing a series of programs geared towards building community and connecting filmmakers with the documentary industry and funders, you will be responsible for engaging our 400+ AlumNest filmmakers.

Minimum Requirements
You have significant experience, likely at least 5+ years in the documentary field, and 2 years working as a filmmaker and/or manager at an artist development organization, production company, distributor, or film festival.

What Else You Should Know
Start date: As soon as possible.
Deadline: Applications will be processed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Early submission of your application is recommended. First round interviews will take place in late March/early April.
Application Process: If your application is moved forward, the application process may include up to three interview rounds with Chicken & Egg Pictures team members. Finalists will be sent a prompt and prepare an exercise/presentation, for which they will receive an honorarium.
Location and Hybrid Work Policy: This position is based in NYC. Staff are working a hybrid schedule with a standard schedule of at least two days a week in our Brooklyn office.
Compensation: Chicken & Egg Pictures offers a salary informed by the organization’s Total Rewards Philosophy and Practices, which is grounded in market data. The salary range for this full-time position is $65,000-$77,000. Actual salary from the range above will be based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Benefits: 100% premium coverage of health, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and short and long-term disability insurances. Flexible spending accounts for medical and transit expenses. A 403(b) plan with a matching employer contribution. Annually 15 vacation days (20 at the two-year mark), 10 safe and sick leave days, and 3 personal days. The office is closed for 10 holidays, in addition to December 24 - 31, and offers a Summer Fridays schedule. Professional development opportunities and home office stipends offered.
