The Managing Director of Talent and Organizational Effectiveness is Flamboyan’s in-house human resources specialist in the Washington, DC office. You will lead Flamboyan’s recruitment, hiring, onboarding and offboarding efforts and oversee Flamboyan’s talent development efforts for the DC team.  Skilled at incorporating equity into all elements of human resources and the employee lifecycle, you will work in close partnership with your counterpart in the Puerto Rico office to ensure that people-managers in both regional offices actively steward org-wide culture through a strengths-based coaching and talent development orientation. You will be responsible for developing strategies to recruit, retain, and develop our biggest asset, our talent. In addition, you will develop strategies to ensure alignment of organizational culture, performance, operations, leadership, reputation, systems, and processes. You will exemplify Flamboyan’s Core Values and act in accordance with Flamboyan’s policies and procedures.

  • 8-10 years’ experience in Human Capital, HR, People, or related functions. 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Deep commitment to and experience building and managing employee relations, internal communications, organizational culture and practices centered in equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. 
  • Experience advising or supporting senior leaders of an organization. 
  • Experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.  
  • Ability to build strong relationships and trust across difference. 
  • Experience with Office 365 required; MS Teams and Salesforce preferred. 


Start date    July 2023 

  Location    This position is based out of our Washington, DC office in Dupont Circle. Flamboyan has a hybrid work schedule which is 4-days in the office and 1-day remote each week along with 1 fully remote week quarterly. Our in-person workplace design is based on our belief that being physically present with colleagues internally and partners externally is essential to building relationships and optimizes our ability to achieve our individual and collective goals | Occasional local and national travel will be necessary | All staff must be fully vaccinated and boosted as a condition of employment unless given an approved exemption by Flamboyan for a medical or religious reason. 

  Compensation    At Flamboyan, our starting salaries are grounded in four beliefs: that we are competitive, we maintain internal equity across roles, there’s room to grow, and salaries are aligned with the market. We avoid negotiating starting salary to maintain equity across our team and we construct our salaries in such a way that staff can increase their pay as they grow within their role over time.  

 The starting salary for the Managing Director of Talent and Organizational Effectiveness is $115,430.
