About the Opportunity:
Pride Foundation seeks an experienced fundraising professional to lead our regional community engagement efforts. Working closely with the CEO and Director of Community Engagement, the Regional Director of Community Engagement develops and implements strategies to maintain and increase revenue from individual donors, special events, and corporate partnerships in the parts of the region in which we work outside of Western Washington (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Eastern Washington)
This role is new to Pride Foundation, though many of the responsibilities were held previously by staff in other roles. Our intention in creating this targeted position is to grow our presence and fundraising efforts across the region that we serve, focusing outside of the Western Washington area where our efforts are already quite extensive. This is a pivotal position for a dynamic and collaborative individual who has a passion for creatively mobilizing resources for social justice. Our preference is for this position to be based in Portland, Oregon. The Regional Director of Community Engagement reports to the CEO.
About Pride Foundation
Pride Foundation fuels transformational movements to advance equity and justice for LGBTQ+ people in all communities across the Northwest. We envision a world in which all LGBTQ+ people live safely and openly as our whole selves in the communities we call home.
Founded in 1985, we are the only LGBTQ+ community foundation in the Northwest, and have invested more than $72 million in nonprofit organizations, local leaders, and student scholars through our grants, scholarships, and initiatives.
Pride Foundation has a $4 million operating budget with 17 full-time employees. Our headquarters is located in Seattle, WA, and we have 5 staff members located outside of Western Washington, with one person located in each of the states in which we work (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Eastern Washington). Pride Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors with 19 members from across the five-state region with diverse professional and personal backgrounds.
The Regional Director of Community Engagement (RDCE) will work closely with the Director of Community Engagement and CEO based in Seattle to develop the overall organizational donor engagement and fundraising strategies. In particular, the RDCE will create strategy, provide guidance, and direct support for regional fundraising efforts outside of Western Washington, working with the 5 Regional Philanthropy Officers to expand and deepen our individual and corporate donor base in each state. This position will have a particular focus in Portland, Oregon where we are in our third year of hosting an annual gala and have a large donor and prospective donor base.
