Funders for LGBTQ Issues is thrilled to welcome the newest member of our team!
This month we welcomed April Bethea to Funders for LGBTQ Issues as the Development and Membership Associate, joining Rebecca Wisotsky as the second member of the Development and Membership team.
Prior to joining Funders for LGBTQ Issues, April was the Membership and Community Associate at the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), where she oversaw membership, programming, mentorship, and educational opportunities. April helped IFP expand its audience by directly addressing demographic gaps in membership. In her new role at Funders she is excited to expand on that work by engaging people and institutions with diverse viewpoints in the service of advancing equity. You can read April’s full bio, here.
April will bring her experience in audience and member engagement to expand our outreach to new funders and enhance our member resources in an effort to increase overall grantmaking to LGBTQ issues.
“In her short time with us, April has expedited much of our membership and fundraising work forward. She brings a deep level of knowledge and skill to the organization,” said Rebecca Wisotsky, Director of Philanthropic Outreach.
In addition to her member engagement work, April will also support the larger Engagement and Philanthropic Outreach team as we enhance and expand our training services.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to April, and be sure to say hello at the next Funders for LGBTQ Issues event!
