In late 2017, Funders for LGBTQ Issues launched Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC), a major initiative that seeks to increase funding for trans communities and strengthen trans representation in the field of philanthropy. At this critical juncture, Funders invites its members and guests at Funding Forward to engage in facilitated discussions to identify best practices to working with grantmakers to expand funding for trans communities. While some grantmakers have stepped up to the plate to support trans organizing, services, and advocacy, the majority of the sector remains on the sidelines. How can we encourage more of them to become active allies to trans and gender non-conforming communities? How can we use GUTC to accomplish these goals?

This session will break attendees into facilitated small and large group discussions to brainstorm strategies to help guide GUTC’s work.
