DESCRIPTION

You aren’t in this alone

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our world has seen crisis after devastating crisis, amplified injustices in the midst of an unjust world, and the holding of grief, loss, and fear in our communities.

But during a time that has taken so much, we have also seen abundance—we’ve seen generosity and nourishment, unwavering strength and resilience, and purpose that has long defined LGBTQ+ communities.

At the core of this abundance is the simple, yet revolutionary idea of community care—a value that has always been central to our work at Pride Foundation.

We launched our Crisis Community Care Fund in March of 2020 as part of our efforts to support LGBTQ+ community groups and organizations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington who are responding to COVID-19, and whose work had been impacted by the factors surrounding the pandemic.

This fund also provides resources to Black-led and centered racial justice organizing work in the Northwest—efforts that are addressing the systemic racism that resulted in the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has on Black people and communities.

In 2020, we awarded nearly $1 million through this fund in flexible general operating support to 80 incredible groups and organizations across the Northwest. To read more about these efforts, and for more background on the fund, check out our latest report.

Looking forward, the work to reimagine and rebuild our world will take all of us, but we know that our communities have the care, abundance, power, and vision to get us there.

Who and what we fund

In 2020, we awarded CCC Funding proactively to current and past grant recipients of Pride Foundation.

We’re now excited to expand the reach and impact of our Crisis Community Care Fund even further. Our CCC Fund application is open to any groups and organizations in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington who are meeting the emerging needs of LGBTQ+ communities as we work together to rebuild from the impacts of COVID-19.

Our Crisis Community Care Fund supports work in the three following areas:

  • Public Health Impact of COVID-19 (for example: vaccine clinics, direct services in response to the pandemic, services for mental health impacts, public education efforts around COVID-19 safety measures)
  • Social Impact of COVID-19 (for example: racial justice organizing, work addressing increased violence against Asian American communities)
  • Political and Legislative Impact of COVID-19 (for example: efforts in response to emerging political and legislative threats against our communities such as anti-trans bills)

For this fund, we prioritize work serving and led by LGBTQ+ people within these communities:

  • Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
  • Asian, East Asian, and Asian-American communities
  • People living with HIV/AIDS
  • Trans women and femmes
  • Older Adults/Elders
  • People with Disabilities
  • People experiencing homelessness
