Luis Rey Ramirez is an active public servant, artist, designer and videographer with experience as a leader in the nonprofit sector and supporting state and local government, all the while being a consistent champion for LGBT issues. He has served as a communications associate at the United Nations, supported the New York City Council as a constituent liaison and scheduler, and worked in communications and constituent relations with the New York State Senate. Most recently, Luis held a leadership position with a non-profit healthcare organization, helping marginalized transgender youth obtain healthcare.  Luis is also a passionate volunteer, campaigning for immigrant rights and LGBT equality, including playing a leading role in campaigns for the DREAM Act as a member of United We Dream.

Luis finds creative ways to integrate his love for art into his passion for public service, producing many of the posters and collateral materials for LGBT causes throughout New York City. As an artist, Luis has mastered a range of mediums and is proud to have an early collage displayed at the White House and another work included in a group show at the Guggenheim museum. Luis also maintains a successful YouTube channel showcasing his videos on travel, human rights and politics.

Luis holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
