Stephen Switzer

As the Director of Finance and Administration at Funders, Stephen leverages his experience in finance and non-profit management to drive efficient operations, finance, events, human resources, legal, compliance and tech.  Prior to joining Funders, Stephen served as the Finance Director at NewSchools Venture Fund, where he made significant contributions to the financial stability and growth of the organization.

With over 15 years of experience in supporting foundations and non-profit organizations, Stephen has acquired a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and intricacies involved in their sustainability.Stephen holds a B.A. in Geography from Middlebury College and an M.S. in Accounting from Saint Mary’s College. He is actively engaged in promoting LGBTQ+ families through serving on the board of Family Equality to help guide policy and family formation options. 

Originally from Arizona, Stephen now calls Oakland, California, his home, where he resides with his husband, two children, and dog.
