Event Details

Named a public health emergency in the U.S. in early August, the monkeypox virus (MPV) continues to disproportionately impact the LBGTQ+ community, particularly men who have sex with men (MSM), as well as those living with HIV.

On this funder webinar – co-sponsored by FCAA, Funders for LGBTQ Issues and Grantmakers in Health -we will bring together activists, researchers, and funders to discuss the critical role philanthropy can play in:

  • Addressing stigma
  • Supporting prevention outreach and vaccine equity
  • Providing unrestricted support to community-led organizations engaged in the response.

This briefing will be open only to representatives of public and private funding organizations. It will be conducted as a Zoom meeting, which will allow attendees to directly share their questions or experiences during the Q&A. If preferred, you can also share that information via the registration portal.

In the interim, we encourage you to monitor AIDS United and NMAC’s newsfeeds for continued outreach and advocacy on the MPV response.
