Event Details
The recent leak of the HHS “trans erasure memo” as reported by the New York Times has given new urgency to the need for the philanthropic sector to better support transgender communities. Join us for this historic first-of-its-kind gathering of funders to gain new insight and concrete tools, and to hear how you can help can ignite a new movement in philanthropy to sustain trans communities in these crucial times.
This day-long convening is intended for funders who want to learn more about:
- How to support transgender communities within their existing programs, funds, and portfolios;
- How to better support their trans grantees, and to encourage all their grantees to be more trans-inclusive;
- Be more trans-inclusive in your staff recruitment and retention policies and procedures; and
- Build a community of like-minded peers.
The Forum itself run from 9am-4pm on Tuesday December 11th at the California Endowment’s Center for Health Equity in Oakland with a reception to follow. Please note, this is a funder only event.
