Do you know how many LGBTQ people work in philanthropy? Funders for LGBTQ Issues’ new upcoming report, The Philanthropic Closet: LGBTQ People in Philanthropy finally answers that question – and the results might surprise you!

The report notes that upwards of 10 percent of people working in philanthropy identify as LGBTQ, however, the majority are not open about their sexual orientation or gender identity with their work colleagues.

What does this mean for us as a sector?

We invite you to join CHANGE Philanthropy, Funders for LGBTQ Issues, and Philanthropy New York for a presentation on The Philanthropic Closet: LGBTQ People in Philanthropy and a review of the findings of the initial Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Survey. The report authors will highlight the demographics of LGBTQ people in philanthropy, leaders in the field respond to the new report, and afterwards you’ll have the chance to mix and mingle with friends and colleagues to discuss your own reactions.
