Join Funders for LGBTQ Issues to celebrate the release of our 2021 Tracking Report, and be in powerful conversation with LGBTQ philanthropic leaders. In a moment where transgender and gender non-conforming communities continue to be utilized as a divisive wedge issue to attack bodily autonomy, philanthropy has a critical role in resourcing intersectional movement building.

Only a few weeks ago, we witnessed Montana House Republicans bar and censure State Representative Zooey Zephyr, the state’s first openly trans lawmaker, for simply speaking out against anti-TGNC legislation. Texas Speaker Dade Phelan has openly refused to speak with TGNC youth and their parents about the impact anti-trans bills have on their lives. These actions underscore the growing fragility of US democratic systems. As anti-TGNC and anti-drag legislation continue to proliferate – with close to 500 bills filed in state legislatures to date, our tracking report finds that philanthropic investment in LGBTQ communities continues to be deeply outpaced by need. Movement organizers on the frontlines are holding beautiful resistance work, LGBTQ communities are in dire crisis. We are calling on philanthropy to radically increase its investment in intersectional movements. This conversation invites the sector to consider how philanthropy can best partner with LGBTQ movements to resource frontline organizing and change work.

Lunch will be provided for those attending in person. Streaming will be available for those attending virtually.
