The latest 2023 Resource Tracking Report paints a troubling picture: progressive philanthropy investment in LGBTQ communities is in decline in a critical moment for our movements. There was a 19% decrease in funding awarded for LGBTQ communities and causes from 2022 to 2023 and continued monitoring of the funding landscape is critical to helping foundations make strategic grantmaking decisions at this pivotal time.

One way philanthropy can meet the urgency of this moment is by submitting high-quality LGBTQ grant data by October 15, 2025. These data will help us identify gaps in funding and present recommendations for foundations to effectively and sustainably support our movements in alignment with the realities of LGBTQ communities across the country.
