Our virtual Funding Forward will kick off with this plenary webinar of trailblazing LGBTQ movement leaders and funders working to adapt and respond quickly to our communities’ needs in the time of COVID-19.

As with many crises, COVID-19 is having a disproportionate impact in LGBTQ communities and other marginalized communities. LGBTQ people living with HIV/AIDS and with other health challenges are particularly vulnerable to the virus, and closures and restrictions of movement have placed additional burdens on accessing services and basic needs. In a critical year of the Census, major policy battles, and an election of historic importance, LGBTQ organizations at the local, state, and national levels now face even more hurdles in mobilizing our communities. LGBTQ immigrants and communities of color—especially LGBTQ Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities—are experiencing even more severe scapegoating and attacks.

In this challenging time, LGBTQ movement leaders are developing innovative strategies to provide services virtually, to mobilize through social networks, and to take care of each other. Funders are also working to adapt rapidly, offering more flexibility in their grants processes and exploring new funding strategies to address the unique impact on LGBTQ communities.

In addition to hearing from this panel of innovative leaders, this webinar will also include interactive features allowing you to learn in real-time how other funders are adapting and responding to this challenging new context.

Please note, these webinars are for individuals who registered for Funding Forward 2020 and members only. Thank you!
