I started at Funders in September 2021 as a Research and Communications Officer, and am now Senior Research Officer. The main project that I work on is our Resource Tracking Report, which is an annual report examining trends, gaps, and opportunities in foundation funding for LGBTQ communities and issues. As we move into Pride Month, I think back to my favorite Pride several years ago in Baltimore—the year Big Freedia performed in Station North—and the miles of beautiful and multigenerational Black queer and trans folks dancing up and down North Avenue, the love that shined out. Funders for LGBTQ Issues is proud to feature our HR & Administrative Associate, Ollin Rodriguez-Lopez!   What motivates you?  I am motivated by my goal of supporting and providing resources to my colleagues and other Human Resources, Administrative, and Operations teams in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. As anti-TGNC legislation passes and TGNC violence increases across the country, it’s essential to center BIPOC TGNC needs, undo inequities in the workplace, advance transparency, and operationalize a social justice lens to our work. In my new (!!) role at Funders as Member Engagement Officer, I’ll work directly alongside our network of 90+ philanthropic institutions to ensure that our members have ample opportunities to engage with all the impactful resources & programs Funders has to offer.
