Ten leading foundations recently announced a historic commitment to invest at least $350 million in grants to improve health, education, and economic outcomes for boys and young men of color. President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative seeks to advance the same goals, working in close concert with philanthropic partners. To help get you ready for our annual conference of grantmakers committed to LGBTQ issues, we thought we’re compile some of the best pre-reading available. Youth Criminalization Thursday morning’s plenary will focus on the plight of the approximately 300,000 gay and transgender youth arrested and detained each year.
