At 30 Years Old, Funders for LGBTQ Issues Releases New Report Documenting 40 Years of LGBTQ Philanthropy

On the occasion of our 30th anniversary, Funders for LGBTQ Issues is pleased to announce the publication of Forty Years of LGBTQ Philanthropy: 1970 – 2010, a new report documenting the first 40 years of U.S. foundation support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities. This unique and seminal work details how LGBTQ grantmaking has played a significant role in the fight for LGBTQ rights and equity across four decades. International Report Indicates Increases in LGBTI Funding Still Inadequate for Pressing Needs in the Global South and East

Funders for LGBTQ Issues has just published its third edition of a report on grantmaking to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities in the Global South and East. A Global Gaze: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Grantmaking in the Global South and East (2010), documents that giving to LGBTI communities in the Global South and East has increased by 35% since our last report in 2007. Funders for LGBTQ Issues Releases 2010 Annual Report on Grantmaking

2010 REPORT SHOWS MODEST GAINS IN LGBTQ FUNDING SINCE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN (New York, NY – December 19, 2011) Funders for LGBTQ Issues has just published its annual tracking report on LGBTQ grantmaking which shows that, in 2010, U.S. foundations awarded $97.2 million to organizations explicitly serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) communities, an increase of 3.9% over the previous year.
