We at Funders for LGBTQ Issues (Funders) are excited to welcome our new President on December 3, Ben Francisco Maulbeck, who will be the third leader in our 30-year history. Having served in the sector for several years, Ben is no stranger to Funders. He’s served on several of our advisory committees, including, most recently, for our GBTQ Men and Boys of Color Initiative. The Liberty Hill Foundation’s Queer Youth Fund is Now Accepting Letters of Intent for the 2012-2013 Cycle

The Queer Youth Fund is a donor-initiated grantmaking program housed at the Liberty Hill Foundation that awards $100,000 grants to innovative and effective leadership development or organizing projects, or programs that empower gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (GLBTQQ) youth (up to 24 years old). The purpose of the Queer Youth Fund is to improve societal conditions affecting these youth and strengthen the GLBTQQ movement. FUNDERS FOR LGBTQ ISSUES RELEASES REPORT ON GRANTMAKING AT THE INTERSECTION OF RACIAL EQUITY AND LGBTQ JUSTICE

New York – August 23, 2011 Funders for LGBTQ Issues has published a report on grantmaking at the intersection of race and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) issues: Towards a More Responsive Philanthropy: Grantmaking for Racial Equity and LGBTQ Justice. In 2007, Funders for LGBTQ Issues launched a multi-year Racial Equity Campaign aimed at forging a conversation among funders about the intersection of racial equity and LGBTQ justice, and to increase grantmaking to and strengthen LGBTQ people of color (POC) organizations.
