Richard Burns Named Interim Director of Funders for LGBTQ Issues

Board Forms Search Committee, Retains Recruiting Firm May 23, 2012 NEW YORK – The Board of Directors of Funders for LGBTQ Issues (“Funders”) today announced that Richard Burns has been named Interim Director, to serve while the search for a President is conducted. Burns will begin his duties during the week of June 18 in advance of Karen Zelermyer’s departure on June 29. Board Salutes Leadership, Announces Transition Process April 23, 2012 NEW YORK-The Board of Directors of Funders for LGBTQ Issues (“Funders”) today announced that President/CEO Karen Zelermyer has decided to resign her position. Her last day with the organization will be June 29, 2012. International Report Indicates Increases in LGBTI Funding Still Inadequate for Pressing Needs in the Global South and East

Funders for LGBTQ Issues has just published its third edition of a report on grantmaking to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities in the Global South and East. A Global Gaze: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Grantmaking in the Global South and East (2010), documents that giving to LGBTI communities in the Global South and East has increased by 35% since our last report in 2007.
